classes for Pro Tools?

I've been wanting to learn pro tools...do you think i should take a class at like a local music school or tech school? is it necessary?

I learned the basics in class, but the advanced stuff on my own/by asking knowledgeable people. I'm sure you could do just as well on your own with a decent book. It's pretty easy to use.

No, you don't need to take a class. You DO need to spend a lot of time with it at first, though.

Keep in mind that any class worth its salt is going to provide control surfaces, which will drastically alter your Pro Tools work/think-flow. You may or may not wish to be influenced thus, depending on your budget.
