I've been waiting for ILX to come back to post this, as I finally took a picture of mine looking tidy with my new keyboard!

Software ahoy!

I don't have a "studio". I just have it on my kitchen table. Is this odd?

It is useful for entertaining the very small, as well:

A garage/workshop in Newport MN and an apartment in Richfield MN.

The GZeus (The GZeus), Thursday, 4 January 2007 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

haha I was going to clean my "studio"s 1 & 2 (aka living room and bedroom) tonight, but instead I will maybe take pictures, as they are in probably the most messiest shape of their lives (bedroom studio spilling out into hallway, bathroom).

He does usually have a great time when he's up in the attic, & usually comes up with something pretty funny. He's just got into Dr Who so this weekend I'm going to patch up a dalek voice on the Blacet modular, hand him the mic and see how he goes with that.

I really need to get rid of a load of stuff this year, it's pretty out of control. In the past, whenever I've seen some synthesiser I fancy, I figure on getting one either when it closes out or second hand shortly afterwards. The only thing is when I do this I hardly ever sell the old stuff, I just stick it on a shelf somewhere, or move it to the bottom of the rack! Idiotic. I have like 5 drum machines, four samplers and so on, that's all pretty much worthless, but takes up space.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 5 January 2007 13:50 (eighteen years ago)

Fancy shipping some of it to me? :)

Andrew (enneff), Saturday, 6 January 2007 12:07 (eighteen years ago)

I'll hold onto it for you, keep it real nice.

There are 2 tiny pictures of the control room, anyway.

Steve Go1dberg (Steve Schneeberg), Sunday, 7 January 2007 03:15 (eighteen years ago)

I'm really trying not to dislike you, Steve, but OK WE KNOW YOU WENT TO FANCY MUZIK SKOOL ALREADY.

John Justen says Toonces was one of the most talented cats on televison (johnjus, Sunday, 7 January 2007 04:11 (eighteen years ago)

Steve, that's not exactly your studio, though, is it? (unless you own the school)

Andrew (enneff), Sunday, 7 January 2007 05:13 (eighteen years ago)

i'm not trying that hard to not dislike you.

underwater ghost ship picture (skowly), Sunday, 7 January 2007 20:03 (eighteen years ago)

It's the studio where I'm currently making a record. John, feel free to get irrationally annoyed by everything I say, but it's gotten old.

Steve Go1dberg (Steve Schneeberg), Sunday, 7 January 2007 23:43 (eighteen years ago)

You can pretend to miss the point of questions here as much as you want, Steve, but it might help to remember that we aren't stupid, despite what you may think.

John Justen says Toonces was one of the most talented cats on televison (johnjus, Monday, 8 January 2007 00:42 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't say you were stupid. I just think it's totally bizarre that you'd interpret my comment as some kind of bragging about attending university. I don't know if that issue touches a nerve with you or what, but I think you ought to drop it already. I just wanted to post a picture of the studio where I work because I think it looks cool.

Steve Go1dberg (Steve Schneeberg), Monday, 8 January 2007 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

Ahh fuck it. I restrained myself earlier, but I'm yellowcarding you, in the hopes that you'll drop this whole "I am too dense to understand the thread title" schtick. Because I can.

John Justen says Toonces was one of the most talented cats on televison (johnjus, Monday, 8 January 2007 06:40 (eighteen years ago)

lmaooooo

am0n (am0n), Monday, 8 January 2007 07:13 (eighteen years ago)

i had a bunch of stuff stolen (synths mostly)

fuckers!

am0n (am0n), Monday, 8 January 2007 07:13 (eighteen years ago)

John, it was a photo of the studio where he normally works on stuff -- not as fun as seeing people's home set-ups, but it's not exactly bothersome, so what's the issue here? I'm sure Skowly doesn't own his old band's rehearsal space, either.

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 8 January 2007 18:17 (eighteen years ago)

For fucks sake, anyone who wants to bitch about my mod choices can either

1. Email me offboard
2. Post it on Mod Req
3. Shut the hell up about it

Any of these options will reduce the clutter on these threads, OK THX BYE.

John Justen says Toonces was one of the most talented cats on televison (johnjus, Monday, 8 January 2007 20:14 (eighteen years ago)

what if we want to celebrate yr mod choices?

TOMB07 (TOMBOT), Monday, 8 January 2007 20:19 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know. The "John Justen is wicked awesome" board keeps getting tied up in committee.

John Justen says Toonces was one of the most talented cats on televison (johnjus, Monday, 8 January 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)

John, I wasn't bitching about your mod choices so much as just commenting on the content of the thread. (Which you could have kept uncluttered by just ignoring Steve, right?)

I would try to get back on topic by posting a picture of my recording area, but it seems to be covered in empty Red Bull cans and crappy CDs. :(

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 8 January 2007 23:00 (eighteen years ago)

that rehearsal space is in my friends' apartment.

Oh, sorry Skowly, I assumed it was a rental space!

(And John, sorry for butting in there.)
