you know the smaller versions of real ones made of companies like first act? I have the potential to buy a 7 pc (200 msrp) for $50? worth it? I like the craziness of the idea but dont know ever about quality of this sorta of stuff.

Oh ok. Just so you know in the normal drum world "pieces" only refers to number of drums, not cymbals or hardware. They just want it to sound like you're getting more stuff.

Anyway those kits aren't very durable or very quality but I've thought it might be fun to record one, just for a different effect. Maybe with real hardware and heads it would sound cool?

i got a kid's drum kit for twenty pounds but the drums don't make very interesting noises; i stuck a tesco 'my first drum' and 'my first tamborine' on it and these make better tom and snare sounds than anything on the kit. also the cymbal mount broke when i hit it hard and the cymbal went flying. i might try and get an actual drummer to get something out of it one day.

There's a six-year-old playing his kids drum kit on our upcoming album. It's a pretty battered kit by now. But he looks great at it.

I'm hoping for late March. It is more or less done, but artwork and possibly videos are being made...
