i'm a little biased cuz my guitar player plays one, but the fact remains:

1) I've seen the Twin R. used in everything from honky tonk to the most screechy pigfuck imaginable - perhaps the most versatile amp ever

2) for being a combo these babies are fucking loud as shit, can handle distortion or nice, clean tones and always sound great.

no diss to the marshall stack, but for my money the this is the greatest amp ever.

but, but.. i prefer the peavey classic to the fender twin!

same tweedy tweedyness, but these babies seem to make any stompbox shine like a mother. you can really push them before you get that lovely valve distortion too, which i really like.

when i play through my marshall its impossible to make it not distort... its a lovely little thing tho, fat as fuck, volume goes from 0-10, then the pot next to it goes from 11-20!

I have a 70's Peavey Classic 210, and I much prefer it to my friend's vintage Twin.

Which vintage twin, though?

I'm thoroughly biased against Twin Reverbs because every single time I've been in a band with someone who has one they pathologically play LOUD LOUD LOUD forcing two possible outcomes:

1) An arms race of volume that ends in absurd armageddon.
2) Multiple pleas to PLEASE TURN DOWN which occasionally works until said pathology kicks in.

I'd rather play in a band with someone who has a Marshall stack than a Twin.

Disclosure: I have a 70's Pro Reverb and love it much more than any Twin.
