Tuning my organ

My band has a Farfisa electric organ in our practice space. It is out of tune. Is there any chance that I, who is not particularly mechanically apt, will be able to tune it on my own, or should I just give up and get a professional's help? I looked at instructions online briefly and they seemed intimidating.

i looked up instructions online as well for tuning my fast 5 a while back, but never attempted. not yet anyway. apparently by tuning one octave, all five should tune up, no? and i have to use a fiberglass or other non-metal screwdriver to do it. maybe it's not so intimidating.

What kind is it Nick? I think most models of Farfisas, you just need to find the tuning pots (there are probably 13) and tweak them into pitch with a screwdriver.

Yeah, most old organs are just the highest octave with octave divider circuits for each lower.

Depending on the model, some Farfisas tune by octave, some tune by each chromatic note. I guess you'll know which it is if one of say one note within an octave is more in tune than another vs the same note not in tune with itself at a higher octave. Either way though there should be a gaggle of pots, tuneable by screwdriver.

You should be able to find a schematic online which can specifically point out where you can find the pots for your particular model, unless it is a ridiculously rare model (like mine [a VIP 200-R{aren't I special}]).

It is a FARFISA VIP 345. We took a brief look at it last night and couldn't even figure out how to get it open without unscrewing everything, which doesn't bode well for tuning it on our own.
