Oren Ambarchi: What does he use?

Anyone know how OA processes his guitar or know of any sources where he discusses the technical aspect of what he does? (I haven't seen him live.) I imagined it might be a MIDI-equipped guitar in an alternate tuning run through a Max patch that tracks his pitches and uses the frequencies to control sine tones but I read somewhere that he doesn't use a computer, which is fascinating.

He uses a Washburn guitar with basic effects pedals - pitch shifter, delay, ring mod and volume.
