Gig Refreshment Log

Provided with water though.

It's only in the past year or so I've been playing with proper promoters (as opposed to your 'showcase night' 'promoters') that I've been able to get a couple of drinks for my efforts. Lot of places make you pay for a soft drink even.

And let me tell you something, now that I play with a quartet, I sure do miss the days of being in a trio. Thank God my band doesn't have a horn section.

I think you guys are missing the point of this thread. You are supposed to keep a detailed log of the refreshments provided to you at each gig you play, duh.

Last night, we got 2 cases of beer. Rock and roll!

Two cups of ice water tonight. But it was cool because we made money.

Last night: nothing. Bummer. But at least I got one free drink when the bartender couldn't find one of the ingredients or something.

We got meals tonight, so that was sweet. But no free drinks, and I drank a lot :(

Sandwiches and lots of beers tonight, it was sweet.

1 chocolate bar, 1 bacon sandwich, 2 bottles of wine, 4 beers, lots of fruit, a pizza and a pouch of tobacco.

terribly hungover, got woken up at 7AM by coldplay soundalike band i'd agreed to record... bugger forgot bout that one. must have been in a pro-active 'we must do it, we must start early, we must get it done' kind of mood. got paid too! they asked me to record the album for them, so i couldn't have been that bad.

Unlimited Budweiser, Natty, and PBR last night, so that was nice. The PBR ran out early, though.

Total gig refreshments for NYC tour: 1 drink ticket @ H1ro Ballroom. :( After that the drinks were so expensive that we had to sneak out for convenience store beer.

Some free Sierra Nevada, Victory IPA, and Newcastle Brown Ale tonight. So not bad refreshment-wise, but the show was a bummer.

Last night, a bunch of free draughts; I mostly drank bass ale. Just water tonight.

Sadly, I do not generally get a specific group of beverages, but a percentage off my tab--or tickets that are good for a rail drink and/or domestic beer.

Somewhere along the line, I decided I wanted a shot of Jim Beam and a Bass before a gig. Because that's what I had at my first Black Cat show, I think. And even though Beam is not an expensive bourbon, the mere act of specifying it makes it a call drink, so...

$2 off bottles last night, which was okay I guess. They didn't give us any of the door money though, which was not cool. But thanks again for coming out, Chris.

You guys were great. The other band wasn't bad either.

At the show last night they had some bottled water they were selling for a dollar, I bought one and then they gave me one after we played. There was also some cheap canned beer but I couldn't tell if it was something the venue was selling/giving away or if someone just brought beer for them and their friends, and I didn't feel like drinking anyways, so I didn't have any.

Nothing free last night, but it was just a tiny little art space. We bought some sixpacks, but it seems like every time I do that someone else drinks most of it :(

Nothing free tonight. I drank a beer called Fat Angel - I think it was Magic Hat - and some kind of oatmeal stout.

Tallboy PBR's + corn and hot sausage that we, the band, made for the audience.

A free beer for each band member and half-off after that last night. I drank half a pint of an IPA that was pretty tasty, but then I felt too bummed to keep drinking. I guess I need to stop being an alcoholic now that the tour's over.

Most places I play just do the drink ticket thing - 2-3 per band member. In some places it gets you anything but top-shelf, others only give you a Yuengling or a Bud, but usually you can get a premium beer for an extra buck. Last gig I had a Jack and Ginger and a Brooklyn Lager on the house.

Three drink tickets per member. Each ticket was worth either a free can of PBR or Old Style, or a $1 draft beer. I bought a gin & tonic and a shot of Jack on my own.

Weds. night at Empty BOttle - all drinks half-price. Had a GOose Island IPA, a High Life and a PBR (that someone else bought for me).

Mmm, IPA.

Nothing at all. Buffalo Bar's not that good, I've had cheap drink tokens once or twice but it seems to be down to the promoter.

Empty Bottle again - two High Lifes before playing and a shot of Beam and a PBR on stage. Total cost with drink tickets, including tips - $6.

1 bottle Bell's Two-Hearted

Then the band went through an embarassing amount of beer, Little Debbie snacks, and KFC in the studio (supplied by band members).

Played a Ladyfest benefit on Saturday. Didn't get paid but got all the free booze we wanted.
