duplimication, printing thread

so the band's finally laying down our first ep, and having priced out the studio, the engineer and mastering, we're now trying to figure how to spend the rest of our money. what should i know about cd duplication and artwork? i mainly want to keep it inexpensive, but not sacrifice on quality (i.e. does the cd sound good? does the cover look good? is it the kind of packaging an indie record store would consider legitimate to stock?)

more info...humble, lableless band that we are, we are going to attempt to run 300-1000 copies of this thing, depending on the wholesale discount, and then play a bunch more out of town shows to try and sell it.

Try to find a place near you so you can pick the CDs up and save on shipping. I think replication only starts to make sense economically with 1000 copies or more. If you want an indie record store to stock it you'll need a bar code, but most replicators will provide you with one for $75 or so.
