No more crappy behringer A/D for me! Now I've got a reason to build up a couple of those 7th circle mic pres. I'm well pleased. Behringer ada8000 relegated to FX send/return duties.

i wish i had a victory to share, but i was outbid on a fender telesonic :( A$2000 was a bit much anyway really, that's more than a custom US tele would cost me, so fuck that

WAU that's way too much to pay for a telesonic (great great guitar though.)

it works and everything! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300186304199
1970s (I haven't looked inside for a date, and there doesn't seem to be a serial number dating guide for H|H. Actually there's very little about H|H, except I that can get spares from MAJ electronics) H|H IC100 2x12 combo.
It's heavy, it's loud, it's got reverb and tremolo, sorry, 'vibrato'. I'ev never owned a proper guitar amp before, my Epi SG sounds a lot better through it than it does through my bass practice amp, funnily enough.

side question - if you sell a guitar to someone on ebay, how to you handle the packaging? can i just bring the guitar to the fedex store and have them handle it there or do I have to get some special packing box myself?
― n/a, Tuesday, 15 January 2008 16:13 (seventeen years ago) link
Guitars I've bought on ebay I've collected myself. (helpful answer)
I don't know what a Fedex store would do - they might sell boxes but it's unlikely they'd be guitar-shaped, but I used to be a courier for Parcelforce (please don't kill me) and we'd laugh at anything that was presented without any sort of box. Maybe try hanging around a guitar shop when the new deliveries come in and grab one of those cardboard boxes everything comes in.
Hmm, I'll try and record something from the H|H. I don't have a mic at home, and I can't really play guitar very well, and the thought of playing something like that makes me freeze, but, I'll see what I can do.
I might have to revive one of those bass->guitar amp threads though, for something that might be a stupid question..

re:guitar shipping - get an actual guitar box, pref. w/a wedge shaped interior box. Make sure to reinforce the ends of the box (headstock/body), or you can easily break the neck of the guitar.
If you stop by a guitar shop and offer to buy a guitar box, they will probably do it ($4-6). If you just ask if you can have one, they probably won't.

REVERSE AUCTION VICTORY ENTRY: managed to sell about $1500 of dead stock on ebay this week.
― John Justen, Tuesday, 15 January 2008 21:10 (seventeen years ago) link
re: shipping, John's approach is HIGHLY recommended; some of the larger pack'n'ship places may have guitar boxes, but you'll pay $15-20 for them, and void fill (peanuts, bubble wrap, whatever) will be extra. And Fedex/UPS won't begin to be able to do anything with an unboxed guitar.
re: reverse auction victory: nice work! I've just recently braved ebay to clear out some clutter for 2008 and so far it's been fantastic. The only problem is all that "found" money sitting in my paypal account waiting to get used on e.g. that shiny EHX Microsynth I've been wanting to try ever since The Meadowlands came out...

I have nowhere else to put this, so why not here? In thanks for selling a bunch of his vintage pedals for him, a customer just gave me an working 1968 Jordan Boss Tone AS A TIP.
