im looking to make dancey type remixes but what is the best equipment to get for your typical bedroom-producer looking to create professional quality tracks? i have a fairly powerful pc but im gonna get a mac, and ableton - is this the best program to start out on?

also would a synth like a korg or a midi controller or similar be an important buy?

haven't you asked this before?

I think s.rose has asked this twice, in different contexts, and once kinda asked for directions on how to do a remix, until eventually people got a bit annoyed at having to explain that it, like, depends what you're trying to do, and how, and maybe you need to start with learning some general basics about music production as a whole before just leaping to the "what do I push to make a remix" bit, etc. To which s.rose, if I remember correctly, was kinda like "yeah, cool, but what I'm wondering is, like, what do I do to make a remix," very politely and nicely.

I might be mixing that up with someone else, though.

In any case, yeah, Ableton Live is a perfectly good starting point for learning this stuff. And yeah, if you want to add synths to what you're doing, I would recommend getting a basic MIDI controller and working a bit with the Ableton softsynths.

Whatever you do, make sure you play it through a bass amp.
