I don't play guitar, but saw this on the AH list and thought people would be interested. John, Roger, Pash— any thoughts?

Oh yeah, there's a video demo on the main page of the moogmusic site.

Technically it's very neat - I imagine that sustain or damping of individual strings is much harder to pull off than an ebow/sustainer gadget. But I fear the jazz fusion wankery that it's going to end up getting used for.

STOP PRESS: candidate for world's ugliest looking guitar just got uglier...

They've added a knob and two switches, and also a 13 pin connector. The latter isn't so bad, but the extra controls just look like when someone mods your guitar and they just slap the new bits on anywhere.

The other thing that bothers me is that none of the controls are labelled. It has six knobs and five switches, more than most Moogerfoogers, and they wouldn't sell one of those without labelling.

The one thing keeping this from looking super-monstrous to me is that they've at least tried to make the control bit look like a Rickenbacker.

(I am currently meeting synth-tar needs with this old weirdo: http://newcome.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/dg20.jpg )

These things are so overcomplicated, I'd hate for something to go wrong with it.

And very possibly something may go wrong with it...
