ok so i am trying to fit an acappella on to a track i am making with logic, can anyone give me advice on how to quantize the acappella? i've tried using the quantize engine but can't really get my head around how it works, plus it seems to make the audio pop loads when it's applied. do i need to slice the audio and quantize it manually? what if i turn it into an apple loop? or should i just try a different program? help!

any general advice on quantizing audio outside of a specific piece of software will also be greatly appreciated, like what is the process of chopping samples and what not.

cut up the phrases and adjust each one manually, this is how I start the process for any audio from a live source (meaning anything that isn't a drum machine, basically) even in Ableton.

i understand (though i have not used it) that elastic audio in the latest protools version is perfect for this kind of craziness. tom's advice is probably the most straightforward.

from what I understand, all the quantizing audio tool in various programs rely on being able to figure out the beats by noticing the drum hits. I can't imagine how a program would be able to figure out the tempo of somebody singing.
