Recommend a decent 4-track I can get used for 1k

I am sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a thread...I am a total technical klutz, and want one of those ones where you can pop in a standard audiocassette. I also don't need to do anything fancy and it's strictly for my own amateur pleasure, just so I can play around. Thanks in advance!

there are smaller simpler ones with less mixing/eq options to be had for even cheaper. just look for tascam portastudio

reading this has almost brought me to tears thinking about my old Yamaha 4 track. How much research I did studying all the different models (Sansui had a 6 track!) and how god damn cool it was that I had a 4 track in my basement, then in my dorm room.

had a tascam porta 01 that I recorded on for years in the late 80s... I thought it was crappy but that was before I understood anything about preamps or decent mics/micing things decently. came to find out later a lot of folks think the porta 01 was one of the best 4 tracks ever produced.
