IMM challenge: 1 song/week

I have been considering organizing something like this for a while and I putting in some effort on a song for the LULU comp has convinced me to go for it.

The idea is a weekly thread series where posters commit on Sunday to recording a song which will be posted to the thread by Saturday. There would be no restrictions on form or content; the only rule is that the song must be wholly new starting on that Sunday and posted by Saturday. If you miss a Saturday, you cannot roll that song over two the next week.*

Is anyone else interested in trying this? We could start this upcoming Sunday.

are you planning on doing it every week? i might be interested in doing it once in a while but probably couldn't do it every week.

but it would probably be a good exercise, i've been really slow about songwriting these days.

This is perfect. My songwriting has slowed down to a crawl over the last year and this is just what I need. I think it should be every week.

The thread should run every week but obv participation is voluntary. Mostly I want to do this to really get into playing more with my Mac and using it as I originally intended when I got it.

obv it would be more interesting if, say, ppl committed to multiple weeks in a row, if only to see how ppl's songwriting/making process changes as they work on things

Remember, the starting point is Sunday; I'll post a thread that morning and we can all jump on it. The only requirements will be:

- a post on Sunday saying you're in;
- a post on Saturday with a link to your song (as late as you want; not gonna be a stickler about midnight in ppl's time zones or anything, just post before the sun comes up on Sunday)

kind of annoyed because i just started writing some lyrics that i'm semi-happy with but i can't use them for this thing without cheating.
