so, i'd like to get some hard cases together for my electronic gear, most importantly the roland sp-404 (currently have a soft gig bag, which will not work for flights). i'm thinking i can probably find an old suitcase that will fit, but any tips on acquiring & cutting the foam? or any good sources for custom cases?
keep in mind i am not good at 'making things' with my 'hands'.

An old suitcase or one of those cheapo CD 'flightcases' won't hack it. But the SP-404 is quite small isn't it? Maybe look for a suitably sized microphone flight case and then cut the foam to suit?

i've looked into getting a proper flightcase for my juno and the cheaper end of the market is still almost as much as the synth cost ;_;

yup, roland site says 7" x 10 1/8", less than 3" high. i'm googling around and starting with mic cases is a good idea, but yeah, cases are crazy expensive.
