resources for old guitars?

i need technical info beyond like market value or w/e wrt construction and stuff. do gruhns guide or other vintage guides out there have that kinda info? atm i just need something (cheap) to work on for my advanced repairs class next fall and i need to know for certain it's sporting a dovetail; but anyhow that would be useful info to have at hand.

god even the pretty severely broken old guilds are fetching steep ebay prices, that is a major bummer.

them problem is that yeah my task right now is to buy and old guitar but oh hey look at these awesome bacon and day whatever whatevers that are nowhere near my budget wait what am i doing again
