it is expensive, and there is something to the complaints about it being a bougie toy

however, if it had the body design & size of a normal pro keyboard, and cost twice as much, I think there would be less griping and more discussion of the innovative approach to the UI design. the feature set is so vast, there are so many sounds you can get out of it, and it's flexible in that everyone I've ever handed it to seems to do something different with it. it is a very different and inviting way of playing a synth, and the size of it & the way it's been designed in such a friendly / portable way simply means that this is a synth that I play constantly, it's always next to my dinner table or bed just waiting to be switched on, so if the measure of its worth is the amount of hours you clock on it per dollar, it's beat a lot of my other gear in the short year and a half I've had mine, it makes many unique sounds

I've wanted one since they were announced but I still haven't seen or played one. Calling it a toy is stupid though. Look at how collectible synths like the Synthi or the Wasp are now. Toys are fun to play with, like instruments should be. There's a famous Wendy Carlos review of the Synthi (I think from the Whole Earth Catalog?) where she slams it as a toy and look at how much great music has been made with those. But I think I'm going to somehow sell everything I own and scrape my pennies together to buy the ultimate synth toy, the music easel reissue.

also I don't get the gripes about price. It seems pretty reasonably priced and is a brilliant piece of product design. I think people hate it because it's small and looks like an apple product.

That music easel reissue looks cool and all but it depends if you want to make some music or some neat Youtubes

two months pass...

We made the graphics for CWO to resemble a cow, digesting and processing the audio
signal through it's four stomach compartments, producing a very unique result
