I find breweries tend to have their owners around more

Do you foresee any difficulties in organising a piss-up in either?

I went to a brewery once for the tour. I don't normally go out to drink places but had been invited by my wife's boss. It happened to be for a brand that I liked and was drinking pretty regularly at the time. The vibe in the taproom was very sterile and lacking character. The difference that comes to mind is a Gibson Guitars showroom vs an actual nightclub.

Breweries usually have good/better food (although they're always too brightly lit, otm)

Breweries smell yeasty and sometimes let me play music in them

Bars are often more convivial and smell less yeasty; sometimes they let me play music in them

Draw, I guess? Situationally it depends on which one is more convivial for having a book or crossword and being mostly left alone
