Could zebra racing be the next big thing?

Kinks (Kinks), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

it's flambe gazelles around here bub. zebras are for memsaabs.

hurley (hurley), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 13:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Never a truer word spoken. Would the sight of a passing high speed zebra render its markings into a grey blur? If this is the case then you're probably better off just sticking to grey horses. It'd be cheaper.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Would a speed camera be able to spot a zebra? Or would those leopard-confusing markings enable it to escape detection? I guess even a jellyfish could escape detection, were it evenr to be launched at 1,195 miles an hour past a speed camera: where would they send the fixed penalty notice? A jellyfish has no fixed abode, goddammit! Send em back where they came from! Damn jellyfish. Hellyfish is what I call em. No, actually I call em wibbly-wobbly-ouch-you-bastard-that's-the-last-time-I-wear-you-as-a-hat-men. And I think they know they're in the wrong, because they never give me any verbal after that.

Pooster (pooster), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 20:52 (twenty-two years ago)

the real question is whether, at speed, you could distinguish a zebra from a stripe-suited convict fresh off the chain gang. and if you could tell the difference at all, could you tell in time to pull up??

hurley (hurley), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

If you can't distinguish a zebra from a convict, why bother paying all that lolly to go to SA to photogaph your newly betrothed in front of a herd of suchsame? Why not just take her to Risley Remand Centre?

Pooster (pooster), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

The first option is actually cheaper.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 20:37 (twenty-two years ago)

In "real terms"

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 30 August 2003 00:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Zebras have inside green and not tigerstriped? Esso.

But bullshit! Hamburglar the Motherfucker stole that lemon-lime Fruit Stripe gum.

Because I'm that juicy Lion's Mane.

Toilet Cordon Bleu, Saturday, 30 August 2003 03:54 (twenty-two years ago)

So zebras aren't really horses wearing pyjamas, then?

C J (C J), Saturday, 30 August 2003 06:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Horses are zebras in horse hair jumpers, where do they get the horse hair from? I hear you cry, the simple answer is NO-ONE knows.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Monday, 1 September 2003 08:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Vivienne Westwood makes designer horse hair jumpers for the zebras to wear. Hoardes of seven year old schoolchildren make them up, working the 4pm-to-midnight shift in appalling conditions in the sweatshops of West Kensington, for a mere ten bob a week. It's shameful, really.

C J (C J), Monday, 1 September 2003 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Particularly for poor old Bob. He's knackered.

Matt (Matt), Monday, 1 September 2003 22:08 (twenty-two years ago)

If zebra's stripes were horizontal, like race cars, could they go faster?

Zen Clown (Zen Clown), Saturday, 6 September 2003 04:01 (twenty-two years ago)

If Zen Clowns paid closer attention to their postings, could they avoid errors in punctuation?

Zen Clown Critic (Zen Clown), Saturday, 6 September 2003 04:11 (twenty-two years ago)

What does punctuation have to do with zebras?

Zen Clown (Zen Clown), Saturday, 6 September 2003 04:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I have some personal friends who are zebras and they are all punctual.

Zen Clown Critic (Zen Clown), Saturday, 6 September 2003 04:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Ner.

Zen Clown (Zen Clown), Saturday, 6 September 2003 04:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Never mind the sound of one hand clapping, there's little more Zen than the sound of one man losing an argument with himself in a locked, windowless cubicle.

Matt (Matt), Monday, 8 September 2003 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

two months pass...
I doubt it, but it is interesting.

Sincerely,

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 09:22 (twenty-one years ago)

This is a little odd.
