Can anyone recommend a decent treatise on mitigating gall? My gall bladder seems to be on the fritz and I keep saying the most preposterous things. I read a brief series of biographies on Caesar, Edward III, Marlborough, Nelson, and Wellington but they did not shed any light on the specifics of technique. I can repay in Confederate notes, Assignats or pre-war German marks, but am unable, at present, to write any more checks, cheques, or Czechs, though upon rummaging here under the fridge I may be able to offer a few Chex of indeterminate cereal provenance.

I seem dimly to recall a saying about "curios killed the cat", but I can't recall how it works - or it may have been "Cheerios killed the cat" - perhaps by choking or some such.

Lord knows, Cheerios eaten without milk are impossible to swallow. Cats, however, being notorious lovers of milk, would appear to be unlikely candidates for unrestricted consumption of dry Cheerios to the point of unintentional auto-asphyxiation. So, the preponderance of presumption must swing back toward curios as the culprit.

As for gall mitigation, I hear you must place it in a pig's eye. It only takes about a groat's worth to be effective.

The groat is a near cousin of the ort, the jot and the tittle. It is exceeding small, until it lands in your eye. Or a pig's eye.
