What does your bathroom look like?

Clean it up a bit if you like, but you know you can never hide the shame.

Shame now comes in a convenient medicine-cabinet-thin bottle for just such occasions, kenan.

Any of those sound fine to me, except for the thing that involves mold. "Don't let shit sit around so long it grows mold," my grandpappy always said.

Seat down. Always down.

Towel on heated drying rack. (At least when the heating is on)

Seat down, lid down.
Pears soap.

The reverb in kenan's bathroom must be something, though.

What's the text on your bathroom wall, Kenan?

kenan, pls tell me the bottom of the toothbrush mug isn't as gross as im imagining it is. PLEASE.

DC Purrman (sunny successor), Wednesday, 29 October 2008 02:01 (sixteen years ago)

The bottom of all toothbrush mugs are gross. This is a well known fact. The real mystery is how that brown-grey sludge gets in there.

snoball, Wednesday, 29 October 2008 09:44 (sixteen years ago)

no god ugh

DC Purrman (sunny successor), Wednesday, 29 October 2008 13:50 (sixteen years ago)

you people are making out with people after brushing your teeth with toothbrush mug sludge! GOD

I got rid of my tub during major renovations to my apartment in summer 2007, replacing it with a stall. It's safer and easier to clean – except for the mildew that accumulates between the sliding glass doors. I clean it with an old toothbrush.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Wednesday, 29 October 2008 13:56 (sixteen years ago)

Seat down. Towels over curtain rod.

I would love a new tub but when we remodel it we will likely just reglaze. Unfortunately since our house was built in the 50s there's now room for a fancy jacuzzi tub or multiple-head shower.

No toothbrush cup, just use a cupped palm.

meanwhile I want this so bad in my bathroom(s):

HOT WATER:

I would waste so much water with this thing

i want to see more bathroom pics pls

DC Purrman (sunny successor), Wednesday, 29 October 2008 14:00 (sixteen years ago)

Okay, that is freaking awesome. I'm really into cool sinks but again our cramped bathroom limits creativity.

susan i want to get one of those rainshowerheads that run until they heat up and then stop so you dont have water running between yr ideal temp and when you actually get in the shower. our shower takes a good 5 -10 minutes to heat up. such a pain.

DC Purrman (sunny successor), Wednesday, 29 October 2008 14:02 (sixteen years ago)

I installed a pedestal sink. Elegant and damn easy to clean, except it doesn't leave much room for my things.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Wednesday, 29 October 2008 14:04 (sixteen years ago)

This is it:

havent tried it yet. im going to spray with bleach first then sonic scrub it a little later.

DC Purrman (sunny successor), Wednesday, 29 October 2008 14:07 (sixteen years ago)

nice sink!

DC Purrman (sunny successor), Wednesday, 29 October 2008 14:08 (sixteen years ago)

Pedstal sink, classic. Such a sink would force me throw out old cleaning products.

The best method I've found for cleaning the tub/stall is to spray it down with Scrubbing Bubbles every night, no rinsing, and then wipe down once a week with a scouring sponge. Very little effort involved.

A socialist who's happy to spread the wealth (Susan), Wednesday, 29 October 2008 14:09 (sixteen years ago)

No toothbrush cup, just use a cupped palm.

I should point out that I don't actually use the toothbrush mug to drink water from.

snoball, Wednesday, 29 October 2008 14:10 (sixteen years ago)

scrubbing bubbles have never worked for me. i felt kind of betrayed the first time.

DC Purrman (sunny successor), Wednesday, 29 October 2008 14:17 (sixteen years ago)

lazy-assed bubbles?

YES

My bathroom is small, but I love the amount of shelves I got, and my shower curtain. I used to keep my dog in there while at work but now that we've settled in I trust him more and he has the run of the living room/kitchen all day.

I really love our bathroom but mainly because it's the first one I've had that has new fixtures and isn't old and gross.
