I don't think it's a question you could even get an honest answer for. I mean, if you ask your sex partner, "Am I better or worse in bed than your previous partner?", do you really expect him to tell you the truth, especially it you are worse?

Also, it changes from partner to partner. What makes the earth move for one partner is going to make a different partner feel slightly dirty, or vice versa. I don't think there's such a thing as a "good lay" because every "lay" is different.

Then again, maybe that's what *makes* for a good lay - the ability to be responsive to one's partner instead of going in there with the idea of "yeah, baby, I'm a 10" or whatever.

Though, besides being responsive to what the other person likes (which I think should be obvious), I would say there are certain things you can do better with experience. This may sound kinda obvious, but in general I've had the best sex with partners who've had the most experience in sex. That's why I've never understood people who only want to have sex with innocent, inexperienced partners, as they often don't know quite what to do in bed. Give me your sluts over virgins any day.
