Your Pubic Hair

OK, this is the oddest thing. My pubic hair seems to be... lightening. It's always been sort of light gingery brown, but I got a clump pulled out in a wardrobe malfunction (ouch) and it is definitely getting lighter at the roots. I thought it might be going grey, but no. It's just blonde at the roots and ginger at the tips. How is this possible? I thought pubic hair was supposed to generally be darker than the hair on your head. (I think... though it's been a while since I saw my natural hair colour, it's dark honey-ish blond/light brown.)

So, erm, talk about your pubes. What colour are they? (if, indeed, you have pubes)

I buy this special pubic conditioner so that my hair is like that on a baby's head.

I hate how, even though it's my board, my threads on this board get, like, almost no answers. :-(

Voted "same colour", although the hair on my head used to be lighter.

red hair kinda does a slow fade instead of dramatic dark-to-white change. can almost seem like it is getting blonder in some cases, but it's really just getting washed out

velko, Saturday, 21 November 2009 22:13 (fifteen years ago)

Actually, that makes sense. Feel reassured now, velko. It's just odd because the hair on my head is (naturally) so not ginger so I don't know why my pubes are going that way.

Perhaps I need to change soap. I use ordinary skin soap on them, would using shampoo make a difference?

Cosmic Dentistry (Masonic Boom), Saturday, 21 November 2009 22:17 (fifteen years ago)

not sure would make a diff with color, but certainly less harsh than plain ol' soap

velko, Saturday, 21 November 2009 22:20 (fifteen years ago)

same colour

actually, I wonder if I was a man, would my beard be the same ginger as my pubes?

(do not have the courage to ask my brother what colour his pubes are - perhaps quite sensibly - but if any other blond haired, ginger-bearded man would like to supply the answer as to his pube-colour, I'd be quite obliged.)

Cosmic Dentistry (Masonic Boom), Saturday, 21 November 2009 22:45 (fifteen years ago)

i wonder if there's a greater co-relation between pube & eyebrow color. Mine are the same color - darker than my hair, so that I "got away" with dying my hair black and having it look more or less natural for about ten years. It's now back to it's natural color.

same.

but I got a clump pulled out in a wardrobe malfunction

o lordy.

I am v. dark up top and equal down below. I think. I voted without checking, I'm ashamed to say.

in addition to that 'o lordy', please be defining 'clump' for me.

FC Tom Tomsk Club (Merdeyeux), Saturday, 21 November 2009 23:02 (fifteen years ago)

Oh, not that much. Actually, it was more like "4 or 5 hairs got caught in elasticated band of knickers"

Still tickled more than a bit, tho. I was just more shocked by the colour than anything else, obv. They have been steadily lightening for the past 5 years or so. Which is, actually, about the same time that I've been pulling grey hairs out of my head.

I just don't really understand why they grey in different ways - the ones below slowly fading while the ones up top sprout single, totally white hairs in the midst of a patch of normal coloured ones.

i fall into the 'all white men grow ginger facial hair no matter what' catagory.

a hoy hoy, Saturday, 21 November 2009 23:22 (fifteen years ago)

Same color as my natural hair color which is to say dark blonde/light brown.

bear say hi to me (ENBB), Sunday, 22 November 2009 03:33 (fifteen years ago)

Although maybe a bit lighter actually.

One tip that I find myself using on weekends is to apply enough hairspray to the pubes to make them audibly "CRUNCH" when you put pants on.

big darn deal (Z S), Sunday, 22 November 2009 03:48 (fifteen years ago)

Slightly darker, I guess. But I haven't much thought about it.

Of course I want frosting. I'm a Scorpio. (kenan), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 04:14 (fifteen years ago)

Let's say this: it looks like pubic hair.

actually, I wonder if I was a man, would my beard be the same ginger as my pubes?

Beard = ginger-ish, pubes = same brown as my head hair.

The human body is strange.
