No. I'm monogamous by nature.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 26 March 2010 10:14 (fifteen years ago)

Unfortunately my answer isn't as moral as I would like it to be... :(

Tuomas, Friday, 26 March 2010 10:15 (fifteen years ago)

Can't tick more than one box ffs

Allbran Burg (Noodle Vague), Friday, 26 March 2010 10:16 (fifteen years ago)

I don't believe you.

I think it's as moral as you like it to be. (xpost)

Mark G, Friday, 26 March 2010 10:16 (fifteen years ago)

too lazy, chances of pulling two people in the same time period minimal.

Jermaine Jenason (darraghmac), Friday, 26 March 2010 10:16 (fifteen years ago)

No box for "I've been cited as being the third party by someone whos partner was actually having an affair, but was compensating by talking too much about someone who she wasn't having an affair with"

Mark G, Friday, 26 March 2010 10:17 (fifteen years ago)

I think you can click "no" then.

Tuomas, Friday, 26 March 2010 10:22 (fifteen years ago)

yeah but it really should have been an option t

Jermaine Jenason (darraghmac), Friday, 26 March 2010 10:24 (fifteen years ago)

As for the boxes: obviously you could have done both option number 2 and number 3, but if that's the case, just click on 3. I just wanted to have a separate option for those who've done number 2 only, as it's a bit different from having cheated on your own partner.

Tuomas, Friday, 26 March 2010 10:25 (fifteen years ago)

Like, I've never wanted to risk hurting someone's feelings if I got caught. Even in cases where I've been hundreds of miles away from my partner, I've always felt bound by some Do Unto Others shit. It's probably held me back a lot.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 26 March 2010 10:26 (fifteen years ago)

^^^ I'm in the same boat as kingkongzilla

never cheated

village idiot (dog latin), Friday, 26 March 2010 10:30 (fifteen years ago)

I don't think I've ever cheated, mainly because I've spent so little of my life in committed relationships.

But I've certainly been co-cheatee too many times for comfort.

Yes, it's morally indefensible, but looking at mine own parents' marriage I decided it was better to be the other woman than the cheated-on wife. At least you had the knowledge and could make your own decisions rather than have someone else's forced upon you. Yeah, I know that's fucked up. I think it was a stage I went through.

I've certainly been cheated *on* enough times to know that it's not very fun.

OTM, obv. Also what isn't fun is being accused of cheating when you haven't. Especially if the person you're not cheating on has decided to reveal to you that they are PSYCHO.

village idiot (dog latin), Friday, 26 March 2010 10:46 (fifteen years ago)

ive been in awkward oh-i-didnt-think-we-were-together-at-the-time moments but never strictly speaking chated in a clear-cut kind of way

This.

Still, you always know when you did something bad.

kenan, Saturday, 27 March 2010 10:05 (fifteen years ago)

I never understood that trope of "When you're cheating, it's extra hot." It's not de-lightful or de-licious, and not at all de-lovely. It's de-grading and de-humanizing and de-pressing. Cole Porter never covered this aspect.

kenan, Saturday, 27 March 2010 10:13 (fifteen years ago)

I've never cheated. Would never do that to someone. And I hate hate HATE people who rationalize their cheating.

"Well, I wouldn't have done it if he wasn't ignoring me"..."He's not been treating me nicely lately"...""I have needs he's not fulfilling". So talk to him/her about it then! If you have and it isn't working, end the relationship, don't make up excuses to get some on the side.

I admit to being somewhat paranoid in my last relationship because of how many guys wanted my g/f and would hit on her IN FRONT OF ME. But she gave me no reason to worry in the end. The thing is, in this day and age, cheating is hard to get away with - with all of the social networking sites and things like camera phones there are too many opportunities to get caught.

I Farted In Your Mouth (Cattle Grind), Saturday, 27 March 2010 13:28 (fifteen years ago)

Never cheated on anyone, but I have been cheated on and no, it wasn't fun. OTOH life is messy and I think as a society we place a bit too much importance on sexual fidelity.

Zelda Zonk, Saturday, 27 March 2010 15:15 (fifteen years ago)

That may very well be true, and I don't disagree, but OTOH I think if you and your partner have agreed on fidelity, it's mandatory that you keep it. (although it looks ilke you probably agree from your post)

Polyamory is a perfectly acceptable lifestyle choice, however. I have a friend that is polyamorous and is perfectly happy in the lifestyle.

Captain Trips (Cattle Grind), Saturday, 27 March 2010 21:00 (fifteen years ago)

I know some polyamorous people who are not ugly. Where did that stereotype come from?

Tuomas, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 15:01 (fifteen years ago)

from all the ugly polyamorous people
