the oldest age at which you have been busted for drugs

Kinda a weird question. Just found out a friend got a CDS charge recently and I'm sorta sitting here saying "still, dawg?" But I'm pretty straight these days, so I don't know.

Vote for the oldest age you ever got popped at, but feel free to post about what a reasonable expectation for someone to stop getting in trouble with the law for drug use, with the understanding that I don't want to judge anyone for actually using drugs. That's not the issue here.

Fortunately, never.

I'd say you should know how to keep what you're doing your own business by the end of your teens, early 20s at the very latest. Though obviously sometimes you just get unlucky.

Haven't been busted since I was 7. Smarten up, beachville.

Oh shit, that's my bone! (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 11 January 2012 17:56 (thirteen years ago)

Never. Getting busted for drugs means you're doing them wrong.

getting busted for drugs is for poor people

Hmm, seems like it's pretty much "pot" luck really. At least in London where the likelihood of encountering a sniffer dog is relatively high. Thankfully I've always been fortunate, but friends of mine haven't been and they are in their 30s.

Oh, that's interesting! So, they have drug dogs just walking around London? Is drug detection their primary use, or is it that they are bomb dogs with accompanying training in drugs.

beachville, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 18:12 (thirteen years ago)

At tube/railway stations, yes. I expect nominally they are bomb dogs but they aren't fussy about who they arrest.

Emily's estimation of "early 20s at the very latest" jibes with my opinion. I last got busted when I was 23, and it was because at the time I made an stupid exception to my personal rules for not getting caught. I certainly felt like I was supposed to be beyond all that at the time.

beachville, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 18:23 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, that's basically my position. Never get caught but you get one freebie. Getting caught in the suburbia I grew up in or in SF would require pretty criminal levels of stupidity.

one freebie

Hey, I said it was the last time! But I admit to the levels of stupidity that I was operating under at the time.

beachville, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 19:35 (thirteen years ago)

Never. Was under arrest for warrants once and a cop tore my truck apart, coming back and telling me he smelled pot and he'd find and I should just make it easier and tell him where it was. At this point I hadn't even smoked in years, much less carried it with me.
The "make it easier" routine was pretty lol, since I was already cuffed in the back of the squad car.

Could start a whole other thread about bullshit cop routines.

I was out in Brick Lane last night and there were police with sniffer dogs just checking people milling around the place.

i've been caught twice in my 20's (pot) but let off the hook both times without much hassle /Canada
