I guess this is different for different people, but in my experience the second year in a relationship is when the sexing gradually shifts from "fuck like bunnies" to "not tonight, I wanna finish this book". (I'm not saying this is a bad thing, though, it just seems to happen.)

However, if some you have stayed in the "fuck like bunnies" mode for more than two years, I'd be certainly interested in hearing your stories.

Combining my weird working hours and long commute and having to get the kids to bed when I get home, I'm not certain that I've done it once this month. I literally can't remember the last time, but I do remember a specific time in early June. I hope to god that wasn't the last.

Missed this thread. Just come out of a 12 year relationship, and we were once a monthers for the last 8 years I would say. At the time we were always worried we weren't doing it enough, but actually finding the energy to do it more than that was another matter.

finally made it happen last night. it was work. my wife was like "i'll put the kids to sleep honey. they've had a long day and should go down real easy. why dont you go downstairs and have a glass of wine?" so i went downstairs for about 45 minutes, and when things had sounded pretty quiet up there, i strolled back upstairs with a glass of wine for each of us. i turn the corner into my bedroom and the boy's in there and he's quietly crying. turns and looks at me and sobs out "i'm sorry...i don't WANT to believe in ghosts!" jesus fuck. eventually, it all worked out though. but this is on a good night.

(it's a longstanding, long-distance thing, which partially explains it. It's a relationship, it's love, but a distinctly non-romantic sort of love.)

Wait until they're teenagers and they go to sleep NEVER and even if you think the coast is clear at 10 pm and the kid looks conked out on an early night and you start to fool around, they go thumping down the stairs to microwave ANOTHER Boca Burger.
