good album! but if u started a thread called The Outsiders "CQ", people might have a hard time searching for it.

Exactly. That's why I cleverly called my thread: The Outsiders (from Amsterdam)! C/D? although maybe it doesn't search inside the parens I dunno.
Also, have you experimented on searching within the q quote tags or the i italics tags?

not sure about italics, but quoted text seems to show up just fine. the main thing the search function seems to have trouble with is any word (in a thread title or post) ending in a double quotation mark.

Really? Perhaps you are right. I know there are some things that mess it up but never pinned it down. But I just tried SWABLR, a mistyping of SWLABR and got a hit with a double quotation mark.

But I just tested on this thread and your result seems correct.

the post with "SWABLR" in it is from 2003. for some reason old threads/posts (prior to the ilx redesign circa 2006?) are searchable even if they contain quoted text. I mentioned the problem here, but maybe I'll start a thread on MRF just to point it out again.

"quoted text" = "quotation marks", I mean

Of course, that makes perfect sense.
