What does this dream mean?

My friend had a dream that we were off at college and lived in a dorm. She said that there was a black cocker spaniel in the room and it was barking and acting irate. She said that when she told me about the dog,I told her to not worry and go to sleep. I apparently was already asleep when she came in the room. She said the dog didnt seem to want to attack her but she was still afraid. She said that I seem interested in going back to sleep and told her not to worry. What does this mean?
