What does my reoccurring dream mean?

I have been having this dream on and off for as long as I can remember and wonder what it means. I am always in a different place (suoermarket, shops, park, going to school (when i was younger)) and I realise that I am not wearing my shoes - either i am bare footed or just in socks. I then feel embarrassed in my dream and then I wake up. Can anybody suggest a meaning?
