A Maze Dream, but not in it

I was looking at my friend's boyfriend across a narrowish road. He was standing opposite me. And beyond him was a maze made of hedges. Inside it/further away is his girlfriend and I'm shouting to him, "Go! Go and see her!" - just saying that. And my girlfriend is standing near me too.

Any idea of what this might mean?

He's been going out with this girl for nearly half a year and I've been going out with my girlfriend for nearly a year and a quarter. We're all 15...
