Anxiety and Verbal Communication

Dear Participant

You are invited to participate in a study in relation to anxiety experienced during verbal communication, which is being conducted by Nikki Burns, under the supervision of Dr Sue Watt, a lecturer at the University of New England. The research is being conducted for my honours thesis.

We would be very grateful if you would agree to participate in this research. Your participation in this study is entirely anonymous (no individual data will be requested) and you are free to withdraw from it at any stage. However, I hope you will find time to complete the questionnaires. You must be over 18 years of age to participate.

How to participate:

To protect your anonymity, the questionnaire is available on the internet. Please click on the following hyperlink:

Once you click on the above link, you will activate a recorded message. You will then be asked to complete 5 questionnaires which should take approximately 10 minutes. You will be asked some general background questions (such as your age), your views on how dangerous you perceive the world to be, how anxious you feel about a particular social interaction, and some social attitudes.
