Are most people in your dreams real people you know, or people with no real-life counterparts?

Thread title says it all.

For me it's about 65% real people I know (although they often do things they wouldn't do IRL), and about 1/3 that don't seem to be anyone I really know, even though in my dream they might be a close friend. (And unlike some people I know, celebrities almost never figure into my dreams, although I've met a few cult figures in dreamland).

Mostly people I've known, probably about 80%.

Actually, most of them are friends from school who I haven't seen since. I admit this bothers me a bit, because that was a long time ago now, but I saw those people almost every day for 7 years, whereas now most people seem to be in my life for about 3 years on average, not enough to make it to whichever bit of the subconscious dreams pick up on very often :/

(what also bothers me is that sometimes I dream about these people as if they're just people I see every day, but sometimes I realise I haven't seen them for a bit, maybe a year or two. It's then kind of depressing to wake up and realise that it's actually, ugh, 13 years now, man I'm old, etc)

For me it's 100% either people I know or real life celebrities.

And celebrities usually appear in my dreams a lot, probably 50/50 with people I know.

Not surprising I don't dream of celebrities - I don't pay much attention to celeb culture IRL either. I pass by the tabloids with headlines screaming about the latest scandals, with celebs identified only by first names, and I don't even know which Jen or Bob they're referring to.

mostly people i know and most of my dreams have a crushing residual air of disappointment.not fun.
