I saw this movie last night, it looks stunning and I love Jean Reno. For most of the middle of the movie I was thinking it was the greatest evah, but the twist/solution in the last five minutes had me going, "Eh, I guess...".

I saw it a couple of years ago. It was a big disappointment; I couldn't understand why Mathieu Kassovitz, the director of Hate, would make such a mediocre thriller. I guess he needed the money...

I stayed away from it for the same reason.

i saw it last year. started off promisingly enough, but got pretty crummy. i don't remember much about it now, though, apart from the cool corpse at the beginning.

For me the only low point is the ending. Needlessly convoluted, contrived and remeniscent of a VanDamme movie or something. Love the rest of it though.

awful, awful ending. wha'haappened?! otherwise not a bad neo-giallo. one of the most absurd plots ever, with the oddest and most inappropriate bits of humor sprinkled throughout.

what really put me off this movie was the shoddy dubbing. subtitles please!

ron (ron), Thursday, 29 May 2003 05:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw it with subtitles. Did Jean Reno do his own dubbing?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 29 May 2003 20:02 (twenty-two years ago)

jean reno did. nobody else. either nobody else spoke english well enough, or they just didn't care enough to have all the real actors do the overdubs, or something. nobody's voices matched their bodies :(

Do they still dub foreign movies in the US? Shocking!

Tuomas (Tuomas), Friday, 30 May 2003 10:01 (twenty-two years ago)

i couldn't believe it, i mean maybe it's ok for kung fu movies. i just saw downtown 81, and the shitty dubbing worked, but that's obv totally different situation

I thought it was pretty decent, maybe I'm not as fussy as some of you guys (I am a fan of the genre tho).

The twist was defintiely a little ridiculous, I have to say.
