Old film, and probably more suitable on ILE, but I put it here so it won't get roasted so much because I loved this film. There was something about its team-oriented military specialty-ness that appealed to the kid in me who grew up with GI Joe. It starts off slow and murky, but once the attacking heats up, so did my interest. Of course there's the standard these are our boys and they have feelings too more so than the natives, but it was compelling to see Bruce et al stealthily take out the enemy a la Metal Gear Solid.

Subquestion: how differently does TotS to other military movies, and how does it stand vs. Black Hawk Down which I thought was fairly lame?

nb. Bellucci here looked like she should've looked in Matrix, and vice versa.

Old film?

Released back in March. Though not in October in the UK. You know, a quick way to cut anti-American feeling in half would be to stop trailers available on the internet from saying "Released this August EVERYWHERE!" when they just mean Peoria.

I just saw it over the weekend. It was better than I expected, but not as good as I might have hoped. Not unlike Black Hawk, it tries to deliver a morality lecture on the inherent wrongness of most US military priorities (albeit a relatively subtle lecture) while still providing some kick-ass US military action. Willis-as-Eastwood got old pretty quickly.
