For those of you who are ardent Criterion DVD collectors, you might want to know that apparently Criterion only has a one-year license for Straw Dogs. Also, it appears that the rights to Notorious, Spellbound, and Rebecca will be reverting to MGM in early 2004.

straw dogs is one of the most visceral, brutal movies i have ever seen. and very, very good. yet i don't think i would want to watch it on dvd over and over....
