What did you like about his recent column ("Doses of Reality")? I thought it was one of his worst.

In the interview, Rosenbaum says, "Why does it have to be either/or, boom or bust?" I think he applied this same attitude well to the Doses of Reality which points what is so often completely overlooked: exceptional moments in less than exceptional movies. He also, once again, makes the case effectively for reality as a virtue in film.

he keeps talking about "down with love" unwittingly said something about the present but WHAT DID IT SAY?

also what reality was there in that Bob Dylan movie?

his articles read like sketches toward reviews and not actual reviews.

I mean is "reality" so uncomplicated and self-revealing that its appearance in a film should be remarked upon but not explained?
