I see (in my Miss Cleo crystal ball) Elephant reaching the mid-teens. Most will likely love the film, but the Mike D'Angelo 0 out of 100 rating gives me reason to believe there will be at least a few active dissenters with this one. (Then again, Kent Jones is actively a non-fan of Dogville...)

I'm not going to be surprised if School of Rock narrowly edges Elephant on the poll.

Elephant will no doubt be at the top, if not the top, of Film Comment's list, although people do like American Splendor for some reason ... this is especially since no one seems to remember Bright Future coming out.

I got 2004, 2005 and 2006 (Indiewire version) wrong too, so clearly picking #1 isn't my game. Though I think the years I've tried to guess the top 10s, I've usually gotten at least six or seven.

I can't remember what I guessed in 2005, now that I think of it, but I guessed Sideways in 04 and The Departed in 06, so I guess whatever won Film Comment's milquetoast poll in 05 was probably what I guess for the win over at VV.

History of Violence won Film Comment, but I think I may have actually guessed Grizzly Man now.
