You'd think there'd be more there, but there's somewhat of a dearth of them. For cheap/rare DVDs, go Soho-Berwick Street/Chinatown borders, you'll need to be the DVD equivalent of a "crate digger", though- patience is essential.
As for nice "film merchandise" shops, well-the NFT/BFI used to have a nice little shop, but I think they did away with it. There are a lot of Scifi (if that's your bag) shops on the Charing Cross road just north of Leicester Sq station, as well as a number of excellent art/photo bookshops that carry film books. I'll post more as I think of it.
