Z!

Do NOT go and see Alice's Restaurant, whatever you do!

Shit, I miss the NFT.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Monday, 1 December 2003 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Too bad you've already missed Far from Vietnam, or I would've told you to go see that one for me.

Eric H. (Eric H.), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought Z was boring.

I would see Week-end, but be prepared to be a bit annoyed.

ryan (ryan), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 01:20 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks ilf folk.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

too bad you misse Z it's an furious, fast paced politcal thriller with subversive overtones. And has one of the coolest scores and chase scenes ever. Check out the DVD for sure.

Night Of The Living Dead -- I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to see these on the big screen.

If... -- incredible underrated film.

I would also check out MASH, that film gets better everytime I see it.

excuse the typos... I get jazzed when I think about Z.

see

PVC (peeveecee), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

go see daisies! slyly feminist, bone-deep satiric czech new wave madness by vera chytlova, the genre's leading (only?) female director.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

mash gets worse every time I watch it!

s1utsky (slutsky), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 21:41 (twenty-one years ago)

"Week-end" improves with every viewing. It's purposefully very harsh and alienating. Godard's command of langauge has never been as consistent or apocalyptic. I'd love to see it on a double bill with Hitchcock's "The Birds."
Instead of "Easy Rider" they should screen "Head." "Head" is probably the best American film to express the polticized ambitions of the 60s underground. It's more entertaining and more subversive than any other film made by a studio at that time. As much as I love Altman's work in general, I think I prefer Mike Nichols "Catch 22" to "Mash."

theodore fogelsanger, Wednesday, 3 December 2003 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

well Catch 22 is the superior film, but I just can't resist the charm of the Donald Sutherland / Elliot Gould duo. That's what makes MASH for me.

*weeps*

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 December 2003 05:54 (twenty-one years ago)

You're crazy, Slutsky. I saw MASH the other day and loved every minute of it, except for the Last Supper scene. I could watch that dashing Elliot Gould all day.

antexit (antexit), Friday, 5 December 2003 14:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I love gould & sutherland (LOVE them) but the movie is pretty weak--especially the stuff when they go to japan, and the big football game

s1utsky (slutsky), Saturday, 6 December 2003 00:46 (twenty-one years ago)

MASH is funny, bottom line. The football (sorry - Gridiron) game seems like it came from another movie, though....I think it captures the essence of Catch 22 the novel far better than Catch 22 the movie actually does...

Medium Cool is on tomorrow and I'm there....

Eric H., Tuesday, 23 September 2008 04:29 (seventeen years ago)

oooh, look who's serially posting to ILF. You ARE someone else!

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 23 September 2008 13:12 (seventeen years ago)

Well, I'm just going to pretend most people now use Site New Answers like I do.

Eric H., Tuesday, 23 September 2008 15:01 (seventeen years ago)

I would, if all that ILM junk didn't come up.

Hermenaut can be dismissed off the first two "overrated" picks.

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 23 September 2008 19:12 (seventeen years ago)

I really wish they'd have gotten the chance to do every year like they said they would. Even if their lists just add more support to the theory that Chris F. is a humorless tool.

Eric H., Tuesday, 23 September 2008 19:24 (seventeen years ago)

oh, so this is a 'dead' site? Thye sure make it hard to find a TOC for the film years.
