**SPOILERS**

Yes, that's right..."The Grudge". A pretty damn scary movie.

One thing that I'm having trouble figuring out is the timeline of events in the movie? Particularly the social worker girl--she is the first main character we are introduced to, when she is going to the house. She comes across the boy and the elderly woman from the previous family, and later on she is found in a daze by her co-worker and brought to the hospital, where she is interviewed by the policeman and discharged. The movie continues along, introducing other charactes, and then, in a later segment focusing on another charcter (i.e., the daughter of the investigator of the original murder in the house), we find out from a radio that the social worker girl has been found dead (presumably in the haunted house). The final scene, though, is the social worker girl with a different haircut, implying that time has passed since we were first introduced to her, and thus she didn't die/disappear or was driven mad immediately after her experience with the house, as most of the other characters did. She re-enters the haunted house to check up on her friend, and again gets besieged with the ghosts in the process. Is that the correct sequence of time/explanation of events in the movie? Why on earth would the social worker ever go back into the house, though, after all she experienced the first time?

eight months pass...
I was also confused by this. I figure about 10-12 years passed, seeing as the guy's daughter grew from about 7 to 18 or so. I didn't understand why she went back though. Plot device, I suppose.

So the trailer for the new Sarah Michelle Gellar movie looks like it's a shot-for-shot remake. Same director, but bigger budget. I personally liked how low-budget the original was.
