I have this problem constantly! No matter how different the people, if the names are similar I'll confuse them:

Mary Stuart Masterson and Mary Louise Parker (ever since Fried Green Tomatoes)

Plus, I get ordinary words mixed up all the time. Yesterday: Calvary and Cavalry.
