Has anyone seen Errol Morris' new doc "The Art of War" yet? It takes an academy award to get a doc in the theaters in my podunk little town, and I'm going to see it on Friday.

"The Fog of War," you mean? Opinion seems split -- people who are familiar with McNamara's past self-flagellations about his role in Vietnam seem to think Morris indulges him way too much. I think Morris is trying to work it all out himself, which is interesting to see. He gives McNamara both enough room to explain himself as well as enough rope to hang himself with. I still prefer "quirky" Morris ("Fast, Cheap, & Out of Control"). But "Fog" is worth seeing too.

sorry, i must have had Sun Tzu on my mind...

the technique sounds like he's beginning to perfect what he started with "Mr. Death". i'm looking forward to it.

it'll be hard to surpass "the thin blue line" in my mind--what a brilliant film.
