Mr. 3000 -- what a lame preview!

What is it with the previews that pack in waaaay too much exposition? Does it reveal flaws in the films themselves -- i.e. high-concept setup for 1/2 hour before the "real" movie kicks in? Does it reveal flaws in the previewmakers? Or what? I mean this thing had to do so much plot just to get to the point where I was "ok ok, old dude makes comeback, shows 'em what its about" and I felt maybe I'd seen most of the film already. Ditto the Up A Creek preview where it also felt v. awkward and strained with the music cues switching up too much like a montage rather than a synthetic preview.

Anyway, talk about previews or mr 3000 here. Or baseball movies in general.

that harold and kumar preview also almost made me not want to see the movie, but luckly it didn't.

and the blade preview -- why did they NEED the "oh, you're whistler's daughter!" bit in there at all!?
