"If..." reminded me of "Midnight Cowboy" (don't ask me why), which has B&W flashback and dream sequences.

I know docs are banned from discussion, but I think Resnais' "Night and Fog" utilizes the technique beautifully. Also, nearly all of Jem Cohen's films use the combo of B&W and color.

Ok, how about an addendum to this post--films that utilize multiple film/video formats (i.e. combining one or more of super8, 16mm, 35mm, miniDV, Pixelvision, etc.)?
