Oh, and If..., which incidentally was done not for artistic reasons, but purely b/c they overshot their budget - which explains why it occurs at random with no seeming pattern.

I know docs are banned from discussion, but I think Resnais' "Night and Fog" utilizes the technique beautifully. Also, nearly all of Jem Cohen's films use the combo of B&W and color.
Ok, how about an addendum to this post--films that utilize multiple film/video formats (i.e. combining one or more of super8, 16mm, 35mm, miniDV, Pixelvision, etc.)?
