I have After Effects on my mac, but have never really tried to get to grips with it. Does anyone use this or any similar package (Shake,etc) for effects/compositing. When I was working as an editor, I noticed that a lot of older Avid operators were a little wary of these new technologies, and stubbornly refused to learn them. How commonplace are they for newere editors/people working in the industry? Can you see evidence of After Effects the same way you can tell a generic Photoshop "effect"? This is always a problem with image manipulation software of any kind. If so, who is After Effects aimed at? Corporate video-makers, etc.?
