Holy crap, what an update! The Wajda "war trilogy" box set, Truffaut's "Jules et Jim" (by far my favorite film by Truffaut, quite possibly because it's his version of a Godard film). Not to mention the previous announcement of "My Own Private Idaho" and "Tout Va Bien". I love that company....

I want to see the J&J art really badly. I already have it but I'm pretty certain that I'm going to buy the Criterion too.

I'm serious ... Ti-i-i-i-im (deangulberry), Thursday, 23 December 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

And L'Eclisse, certainly among my top 10 most-want-to-see films at the moment.

I haven't really had a proper "turning on" to Passolini yet (besides "Salo", which I loved). I'm thinking I'll have to just rent his entire filmography some week & just binge out on P.P.P.

I'm looking forward to seeing "Letter To Jane" on the "Tout Va Bien" DVD just as much as (if not more than) the feature. My girlfriend is ecstatic about Wajda's "war trilogy" being released, and seeing as I've only seen "Ashes and Diamonds" (I have the original Criterion laserdisc) I'm pretty excited too. She's been raving about "Kanal" for a year since she first saw it.

the antonioni is exciting. i found Jules and Jim pretty boring when i saw it a few years ago, maybe i should give it another go...

i'm actually really interested in the sword of doom. i'd never heard of the film or its director prior to the announcement but he's apparently the "japanese sam fuller" or something and there's sociopathic samurais so i figure i'll love it.

(and man do i wish i was monica vitti on that antonioni cover, pressed up against 1960s alain delon.............uh, don't mind me, sorry.)
