that's hillarious! I can just see that pitch--"So, there's this woman, right? And she's in a CAB.....with an Arab guy. And it's AFTER 9/11. Oh yeah, did I mention the woman is Robin Wright Penn?"

"Did you say 9/11? We start production in the fall."

Ridley Scott's Crusades movie (starring Ornaldo Bloomps, who might be the girliest knight ever+always-naked girl from The Dreamers) just 'cuz it has to be better than this year's historical epics (I'll be eating my words there).

it may be good but it will stir up a lot of obnoxious political bloviating.

I really hope this is good: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364955/
Clowes wrote the screenplay, which is a good sign.

Terry Zwigoff is kind of hit-and-miss; hopefully that will be one of his hits.

Don Herztfeldt's "The Meaning Of Life".

I'd be lying if I didn't say that Strangers with Candy was right near the top, but I don't usually pay as much attention to films in production as a lot of other cinephiles, what with the trying to avoid plot spoilers if possible and the not really even being satisfied with project synopses in the first place. I'd be more excited for Brokeback Mountain if I thought Heath was anywhere near as attractive as Jake.

L'Histoire d'Eric H. (Eric H.), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 05:22 (twenty years ago)

Is Jarhead this year? It may very well suck since Sam Mendes is at the helm, but Jake G and Peter Sarsgaard with shaved heads? Way better than porn.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 13:16 (twenty years ago)

Jarhead is this year, but I'm worried Mendes is gonna pretty it up.
