Here's the post for all of you folks who haven't posted about the ILF Film Downloads yet--

So far we've seen:

Jem Cohen's "Lost Book Found"
Sonic Cinema: Sparklehorse Pt. 1 (Guy Maddin, Garine Torrosian, etc.)
Sonic Cinema: Sparklehorse Pt. 2 (Grant Gee, Jem Cohen, etc.)
Bruce Conner's "Looking For Mushrooms"
George Kuchar's "Hold Me While I'm Naked"

Which film has been your favorite, and more importantly, WHY?

I guess I missed the Bruce Conner one! I have only watched the Cohen, which was pretty great. I am saving the rest up for the right moment.

Kuchar's Hold Me While I'm Naked... it's the one I requested most hardcore and was most gratified to have seen. Kuchar doing the voices for every character is fabulously narcissistic.

I have a few other Kuchar films on the compilation I pulled HMWIN off of--let me know if you want to see any others (google search for "Color Me Lurid")

Any requests for future films, whether it be a certain genre/director/etc.? I'll try to get them in for future downloads. I'm pretty sure I'll have a new one up by next week, most likely a couple of films by Leighton Pierce.

Is Fleshapoids among them?

< checking Google >

Alas, no. I'm still interested in any and all, though.

Did we have a thread for the Kuchar? I just watched it and it was cute.

No specific thread for Kuchar, but we can start it here.

It almost seems to me that HMWIN was like Kuchar's farewell to any hopes that he would ever be the next Douglas Sirk, and instead begins to embrace the quirky, outsider elements that made his films unique. It's easy to see the influence on John Waters in this one--the "B-Movie Acting for B-Movie Acting's Sake", the densely saturated colors of the sets and costumes, the little fantastical elements thrown into an otherwise realist piece (the bird landing on his finger, etc.) It's unmistakably a Kuchar film, yet he never made another one quite like it.

If anyone has copies of his video diaries, please let me know.
