Bahman Farmanara's Smell of Camphor, Fragrance of Jasmine

So I'm scanning the critical reception of the film and certain blurbs are standing out. "Woody Allenesque." "Felliniesque." "Brooding existentialism." "Death." "Mortality." Shit, this has my name written all over it.

Really, it's a great film. A little obvious at times for my taste, but fascinating nonetheless. I also, btw, discovered it completely on accident (gotta love when that happens). Anyone seen it?

I saw it at the London Film Festival a couple of years ago. I picked it at random and was pleasantly surprised- it's always nice when that happens. I kind of expected it to be dull, but it was actually quite funny in an extremely dark way.
