seems to be the new loud. a whole bunch of directors getting together co-working on what seems to be large budget projects:

Well, those are both anthology films; far from uncommon for decades. More unusual is 3 or more directors on a single-plot film which has led to classics (Thief of Bagdad, 1940) and megastinkers (Casino Royale).
